Well.....I must say I can't take much credit for this. I totally suck at drawing horses, but I was so desperate to draw decent picture of my unicorn character Gladiator that I had to resort to tracing.
Yuh. I trace.
*facepalm*
I traced up a scene from the movie 'Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron'. I totally loved the way the horses were drawn there, and I'm going to learn some more stuff about horses now and then, while at the same time maintaining my 'cartoony' look. Bleh, I can never draw anything uber realistic lol But I'm glad of how Gladiator turned out-- --isn't he handsome? Eheee! He's been with me since 2002, and means a lot to me.
And...well, it was a quickie. ^^' Hope y'all like.
Art/Gladiator (C) me
Traced up from 'Spirit' and done to numerous Mp3 tracks lol
For fun, I'll tell ya more about him <3 Gladiator was born an outcast to a weak black unicorn father and a powerful chestnut unicorn mother. Black unicorns were considered outcasts and ill-omens, so Gladiator had it bad since he was a foal. His father eventually died out of illness, and his mother was captured by hunters. But he survived on his own, living life alone in the woods and learning all he could to keep himself alive. He grew up powerful, like his mother. But like his father, he's humble, noble and even a tad heroic.
I need to draw a full body potrait of him...gawd, if only horses weren't so hard to draw. He's like a friesian by the way, big and muscular lol ^^

Across the globe, 27 million men, women, and children live in some form of slavery. That is more people at this moment than in all the centuries of the Atlantic Slave Trade. Something must be done. This contest serves two purposes: Raising awareness about human trafficking and raising funds for the Not For Sale organization.
Open to all mediums. Deadline is March 10, 2010 @ 11:59pm PST.
